Our Management Team

Vinny Alex
CEO

CEOs are made, not born. When Vinny left Wipro to teach at CUSAT in ’97, little did he know that half a dozen years later he would become a CEO and a role model to many!

An approachable CEO who leads by example, Vinny says that he is happy with Stylus Inc.’s growth. However, Vinny feels that the real challenge lies in growing in competency rather than just in revenue. He wants to ensure the development of the the all round skills of his employees across multiple fronts so as to build up Stylus Inc. as an organization with a difference. “With its democratization of talent and organizational competency, Stylus Inc. will become a critical component in the web value chain,” he believes with carefully chosen words, “for suppliers and customers from around the world.”

At Stylus Inc. Vinny focuses on execution, sales, marketing and management, apart from having a bird’s eye view on the scheme of things and serving on the Board of Directors as well. After joining in January 2001 as the HR Manager, Vinny leaped into finance and was later appointed CEO. Now he also enjoys software design & architecture. He describes his and for that matter, Stylus Inc.’s role too, as that of a problem solver. “What we do is just problem solving, all the way! Its just that in software development, it happens to be coined as design.” Through it all, Vinny’s cool, calm and composed manner is his operational signature and a source of inspiration to many Stylites.

An engineer with an MBA from CUSAT, Vinny is not just looking out for his company, but for his nation as well. “The lack of honesty, integrity and trust in India, results in large overheads and the need for back up plans for companies. When we are able to ascertain the absolute right and wrong, we will make it possible to drop the cost of business in India and to make it a global hub, given its blessed resources. Think lifetime, think eternity and you will be able to impact a hundred generations!

Thomas Parackal
Business Head - Financial Services

Spend some time with Thomas and you will understand why Stylus Inc. believes in having the right people in the right places! An engineer with top academic scores and one of the finest choices from the stables of Wipro-GE and Birla Technologies, Thomas brings with him almost 15 years of management expertise from having worked with some of the biggest names in the industry.

Thomas, who joined in November 2000 as the Operations Manager, currently functions as the Business Head for Financial Services and is on the Board of Directors as well. For Thomas, joining Stylus Inc. was more of a stewardship call than a career choice. A true catalyst and a strategic analyst, Thomas reckons that the best way to use life is to use it for something that outlasts life itself. A faithful steward, Thomas shrugs away the recognition and rewards with modesty and a handful of words, "Just doing my duty."

Thomas is very watchful of Stylus Inc.’s amazing growth and gives great importance to managing it with organizational and a balanced scorecard framework, which will help to sustain this growth which is anchored on values. With an immediate target of trying to keep at least one day of the week absolutely free from work, an intrigued Thomas with his wry smile, was caught saying “It’s truly fascinating to identify the true potential in people and the complexity that lies in the way of unlocking and engaging it to the fullest.” ___________________________________________________________________

Ranjit Mathew
Director

His thoughts are numerous. His words are measured. His careful gait, dynamics of approach and that reassuring smile are in stark contrast to his sharpened mind which seems to tick faster than a proactive time bomb. Fighting the battles of mediocrity and purposelessness and urging his troops onto excellence, Ranjit at Stylus Inc. is a warrior at work.

Coincidentally, the one plan of action that he echoes is the late Gen. Eisenhower’s quote “In preparing for battle I have always found that plans are useless, but planning is indispensable. " Too often people can't see the difference between plans and planning. The first reflects rigidity while the latter epitomizes flexibility, adaptability and Ranjit Mathew.

With over 14 years of leadership and experience in operations & project management, Stylus Inc.’s GM – Operations, who joined in May 2005, plays out his major achievements as having contributed to the value statement of the company and not having a single grey hair on his head, yet! Ranjit was always on the lookout to be a part of a business with a clear focus on tansformation and aimed at influencing lives. The value based company that Stylus Inc. now is, is a true testimony to that desire and determination.

For Ranjit, Stylus Inc.’s growth is inevitable and often intangible and the growth in character and commitment is equally impressive. He believes in taking people in and investing in them with the firm belief that no such investment can ever become a lost investment. "Institutions do not last forever. People do. We are here for the latter", he adds meaningfully and from the heart.

With a B.A in Economics and a diploma in Systems Management, the chief leads the attack with his diplomatically different war plans, as quoted here. “Stylus Inc. is dependent on passionate people, not on strategy. Our victory lies in being recognized for an unparallel quality of service, delivered passionately.”

Ennis Jose D
Business Analyst

A class topper who reveled in conducting national level technical symposiums, Ennis was always known to trouble the staff with his queries. Curious to core, Ennis was never easily satisfied with what he was taught. “For me, there were no two ways about it”, he reasoned, “Either the teachers had to come prepared or they did not have to come at all!” Somebody obviously went to college!

Having joined in September 2003 as a software programmer, Ennis has evolved to become a truly professional Business Analyst. Juggling multiple roles, with a clear focus on excelling in the art of customer relationship building, Ennis yearns for a shift in perspective. He believes that the right people, who are aggressive and committed to Stylus Inc.'s cause, can break barriers and leverage resources to create better opportunities and greater growth at Stylus Inc.

A committed and demanding Ennis is easily the picture of a transforming Stylus Inc. His resolve to up the ante is reflected in his desire to see Stylus Inc. move faster in utilizing its full potential. Taking himself and Stylus Inc. to the next level of software & business analysis is one of his immediate targets.

A Bachelor of Science from MCC with a Master’s degree in Computer Application he may be, but Ennis is not a bachelor anymore. “Finding Mona" (Monisha) at Stylus Inc. and working with her, he recollects, have been his most delightful moments. His dream birthday gift would be a week long holiday at some resort on a secluded island. Within a few seconds, he remembers and adds “with my wife, of course!”

Sreepriya Vijayan
Manager - Projects

An engineer who graduated from Madras University, Sreepriya is not your typical Project Manager. For somebody who loves and enjoys her life at Stylus Inc., Sreepriya does not think of work in the office as work at all. An ever smiling Sreepriya beams “I’ve never had a Monday morning blue till date. I have always been eager to come to work and with the flexibility that Stylus Inc. offers, who wouldn’t want to?”

But while at work, our ma’am is on the dot. Sreepriya, who joined in July 2003 as a software programmer, is eager to go in depth into the world of architectural design. A project manager who identifies the negative aspects and appreciates the positive aspects, Sreepriya feels that Stylus Inc.’s quality of service has improved by a few notches. While handling planning and execution of projects, Sreepriya ensures stringent adherence to the quality of the final release so that she can deliver more than the client's expectations. Rufus Rajaratnam
Manager - Finance & Accounting

Rajaratnam means “King of diamonds” and Rufus Rajarathnam, true to his name, is one precious diamond in the Stylus Inc. arsenal. Rufus, who joined in September 2006, has already caused a major turnaround in statutory returns and policies while managing the finances at Stylus Inc.

Responsible for managing the operations team, processes and clients, Rufus has had an excellent rapport with clients and succeeded in some lively in-house planning. This has enabled him to stabilize operations, bring in documentation for all processes, allocate dashboards for better control of finance and operations and turn on the auto pilot mode by replacing a “person specific” approach with a "process specific" one.

Thrilled with the freedom at work, Rufus believes "Stylus Inc.’s engines are all revved up and excited. We're here to fly, not stick around!" Fascinated by big flights, airports, cities and the bigger lifestyle that surrounds them, it’s no surprise that his dream birthday gift would be a trip on the A380 and to touchdown at the JFK airport, NY. A passionate driver, Rufus is also learnt to take a trip almost every alternate weekend.

In July 2003, ICICI Bank announced VRS and handed Rufus the challenge of his life, by asking him to help a team of 13 "freshers" to fill the sudden void in one of the busiest branches of India's biggest new generation bank. Rufus improved the operations and customer service at the branch, which was made evident by the fact that the branch improved its audit rating from 60 to 80. He was also instrumental in implementing the Six sigma and other corporate office initiatives. Significant among them would be the award for implementing the innovative Japanese concept Five S at the branch, for which he received the award for outstanding performance from the MD & CEO, ICICI Bank Ltd.

A commerce graduate from MCC, Rufus, who also has an MBA from Madras University, is a man on the fast track. By demanding high levels of energy and top speed at work, Rufus seems all set to ensure operational excellence in the finance department at Stylus Inc.
