The pressure was what kept me going!
The apprentice model – learnt how not to do things
The learning journey – took me back to re-look at my attitude to learning and areas that I need to seriously change.
The ah-ha factor will play an incredible part in my training career.
Live Project…apprentice mode…this exposes the trainee to real life situations and highlights required skills as well as the importance of the process and knowledge.
It has been a great experience. Have been using some of the things I learnt in other areas of my life as well.
Apprenticeship – Gives a lot of confidence at the end of the training
Gives such a real feeling that I felt that I have already done a project for a client!
Helped capture what to look out for, how learning happens, how communications are effective or otherwise, etc.
The apprentice model was a superb idea and don’t change that for anything under the sun.
The apprentice model helped participants acquire practical on the job lessons like client interfacing, project management, story boarding, team playing, crisis management, stress management, personal competency analysis and so on.
The fact that the learner was responsible for his/her own learning was another good approach because it created self awareness and responsibility.
Definitely make the workshop at least 2 and a half weeks long. 10 days is enough to actually put all the information into perspective. To actually use the knowledge and get real results out of it, we would need more time.
The learning in the apprentice mode is never passive.
Experiential learning methodology – Buy in of concepts was higher since people could relate the What to the Why.
LEARNING DESIGN WORKSHOP IN KL, MALAYSIA NOV 2008
Overall, an enlightening course. In depth explanation of various theories and application.
Actual exercise was very good. Instructor was very informative and hands on.
Key learning points:
E-learning is only a mode of training
As in any mode, the learner comes first
Spend 70% planning, framework and gathering information for foundation
Now, I am able to explain ADDIE. Learnt to meet the instructional objective. Very experiential learning. These 3 days workshop was really meaningful for me. With this experience, I will be able to come up with framework for future project (any project, I can apply ADDIE in my daily life)
This is a very learning experience for me. As a project manager, I learnt the ‘analysis & design’ requirement and process for developing storyboard - surely enrich my experience. This drives me for more understanding on how an e-learning product is being identified, developed and implemented.
A real eye opener especially during this walk through process. Glad that our team struggled a great deal along the whole journey but satisfaction came when the whole process is over and we are able to, to a certain extent, manage to do it on our own. Kudos to UIT team for their commitment and support to LTD team and bringing Poh Moi to us. Many thanks to Poh Moi for carving out this path for us to walk through and for being so patient and passionate in guiding and coaching us.
Have learnt a lot and had some pre-course paradigms challenged but finally, have accepted most of the principles taught. Of course, the proof is the pudding – when I have been able to successfully complete an e-learning project on the job, I can then say that I have fully benefitted from the programme. Thanks to Poh Moi for a wonderful learning and eye-opening experience!
As mentioned in my earlier evaluation during the 2-day programme, being the first ID programme, I have learnt to understand the basic requirement to develop training materials for e-learning.
Need more practice in Analysis skill. Excellent programme – a big thank you to you, Poh Moi. Enjoyed the programme very much & the consultancy given to the team in the design process was most useful.
The greatest challenge is putting learning into application. What Poh Moi has done was effective, i.e. drilling the learning into application. Great job. Thanks.
Now am able to see the picture and definitely able to apply in real situation.
Very good training. An eye opener for me in designing training.
A better understanding of the subject matter. Good learning points, detailed understanding of the analysis phase. Understand & appreciate Micro + Macro strategies, objectives, enabling & terminal objectives. Have confidence with real objective and strategies. Overall, a more in-depth knowledge of the subject matter. Thank for the good job!

Trainee Testimonials
"The Primer Workshop has been an incredible journey. It exceeded all my expectations and created an all round holistic learning experience. While I came in to learn the theory and practice of simply instructional design, the Primer Workshop covered that and a whole lot more, ranging from Project Management, Client Management, creating Rigor and Intensity at a workspace. What I loved best was the daily focus on my "Aha Moments" and my life lessons learnt from the journey. Primer has grown me as a person. I would recommend this workshop to any and everybody who is looking to take themselves to the next level!"
